Here you will find flywheels made of free-cutting steel, gray cast iron or cast steel. No matter what type of flywheel you are looking for, we have all the sizes needed for model building. They are suitable for flame eaters (hot air engines), Stirling engines, steam engines and model combustion engines. Bengs Modellbau can supply you with flywheels from 80mm up to a diameter of 140mm. The 80mm flywheel made of free-cutting steel is turned and milled in our own production using CNC technology. The flywheels, which are manufactured using the lost wax process, have an optimal surface without voids. If you can't find the right one for your model building project, just ask us.
This flywheel has an outer diameter of 81mm, it has 12 spokes which are only 2mm thick and 3mm deep. Due to the filigree appearance, it is particularly suitable for Stirling engines and flame eaters. Of course, the flywheels are also suitable as wheels for a motor laffeet or a cannon-booster. The flywheels are produced in the lost wax process. The advantage of this casting process is that the casting has a very high quality and dimensional stability. Blisters are excluded in the lost wax process. The sprue has already been polished. The flywheel is cleaned and sandblasted.
Dimensions of the 80mm flywheel:
Raw diameter: 81mm
Finish diameter: 80mm
Width on the hoop: 15mm
Width at the waist: 17mm
Diameter of the collar: 13mm
Weight: 180g
Material: Cast steel (no gray cast iron)
The flywheel for flame eaters, Stirling engines or steam engines. The flywheels are produced in the lost wax process. The advantage of this casting process is that the casting has a very high quality and dimensional stability. Blisters and hard spots are excluded in the lost wax process. The flywheel has a raw diameter of 141mm. The angles are already polished. The flywheel is cleaned and sandblasted. The flywheel must still be finished by you on its lathe. It is suitable both for use as a flywheel on a model machine and as a tire for a cannon or a caterpillar.
Dimensions of the flywheels:
Raw diameter: 141mm
Finish diameter: 140mm
Diameter of the scar: 22mm
Width: 19mm
Wide scar: 26mm
Weight: 800g.
Material: cast steel (no gray cast iron)
This steel pulley has an outer diameter of 58 mm. The belt pulley was made in the lost wax process and thus has a very clean and fine surface. The belt pulley is designed for use on model-building combustion engines, Stirling engines, flame guns or steam engines. On these model machines it can be used either as a belt pulley or as a flywheel. It can also be used as a wheel for a model caravan. The belt pulley is supplied as raw material. Due to the clean castings, processing of the outer surfaces is not absolutely necessary.
Dimensions of the 58mm pulley:
Raw diameter: 58mm
Finish diameter: 57mm
Width on the hoop: 20mm
Width at the waist: 20mm
Diameter of collar: 15mm
Weight: 170g
Material: Cast steel (no gray cast iron)
This flywheel has an outer diameter of 82.5mm, it has 6 spokes with about 4mm diameter. This shape is a very classic shape as it is used on many steam engines and old combustion engines. Of course, these wheels can also be used in transmissions or as wheels. The flywheels are manufactured using the lost wax casting process. The advantage of this casting process is that the casting has a very high quality and dimensional accuracy. Voids are excluded with the lost wax casting process. The sprues are already sanded. The flywheel is cleaned and sandblasted.
Dimensions of the 80mm flywheel:
Raw diameter: 82,5mm
Finish diameter: 80mm
Width on the hoop: 16mm
Width at the waist: 18mm
Diameter of the collar: 14mm
Weight: 255g
Material: Cast steel (no gray cast iron)
This is the flywheel we use for our Jonas combustion engine. The flywheels are manufactured using the lost wax casting process. The advantage of this casting process is that the casting has a very high quality and dimensional accuracy. Voids and hard spots are excluded with the lost wax casting process. The flywheel has a raw diameter of 202mm. The sprues are already sanded. The flywheel is cleaned and sandblasted. It is suitable for use both as a flywheel on a model building machine and as a wheel tire for a cannon or carriage. The flywheel is available in two versions. The first variant is unmachined and needs to be finished by you on your lathe. The second variant is completely finished. You can see the exact dimensions of the finished flywheel when you select the variant in the article images. Dimensions of the flywheels:Raw diameter: 202mm Finished diameter: 200mm Diameter scar: 28mm Width hoop: 30mm Width scar: 43mm Weight: 2.8kg Material: cast steel (not gray cast iron)
