Product information "Modell Generator 2w"

The generator can be driven via a belt by a flame eater, Stirling engine, steam engine or an internal combustion engine will be around Convert kinetic energy into electrical energy. If desired, you can also use this dynamo as a historical electric motor by simply supplying it with 12 volts. The model is based on a historical generator. The open design means you can see very well into the generator. The collector and the brusches are also outside and are very clearly visible. Of course, this generator has the obligatory eye screw in the upper part of the housing. The generator also stands on 2 tensioning rails to optimally adjust the belt tension. The complete dynamo can be moved 10 mm on the tensioning rails

The material kit is mainly made of brass. The motor housing is made of aluminum. The armature with the winding and the magnets are taken from a standard electric motor included in the kit. The electric motor will be dismantled according to your instructions and some of the components will be reinstalled. Comprehensive construction instructions are included for the further steps in building the generator. In addition, you will find a detailed Construction report with lots of pictures and explanations.

The generator runs very smoothly and has little resistance, making it also suitable for smaller machines with little power such as flame eaters. Accordingly, the power output is not particularly high. However, it is enough to light up a small 6 V light bulb or to operate several LEDs.

All milled parts are already milled and may still need to be drilled, all turned parts are included in the kit as raw material. All required screws, nuts and the electric motor are also included in the scope of delivery.

Eccentric press Nils drive model
Our eccentric press is a replica of a machine tool that was used many years ago in many craft and craft industries. industrial companies could be seen. Eccentric presses were previously used for punching holes and embossing work. Originally the presses were driven via a transmission. Later  Many of the eccentric presses were subsequently equipped with an external electric motor. The actual belt drive was retained. Our model is a replica of such a press. It is equipped with a punching tool with a diameter of 5.5 mm, which corresponds exactly to the diameter of an office hole punch. The press must be powered by either a steam engine or a small electric motor. The best way to do this is to use a small round belt that acts directly on the large flywheel. The flywheel and gearbox are constantly running, but the tool is not yet moving. The model has a foot lever that operates a clutch that allows exactly one work cycle. When the foot pedal is pressed, the clutch engages and the tool moves downwards. The stamp punches the hole and then returns to its original position. Here the clutch is automatically disengaged. Most of the model's components are made of brass. The large machine base is laser cut from steel. All axles are made of silver steel. All milled parts are included in the kit ready-machined. All turned parts are included in the delivery as raw material. Of course, as with all other Bengs model building material kits, you will also receive all the screws, nuts and springs you need. To the construction  A small lathe and a column drill are required, as well as a gas burner for soft soldering. The following should also be available:Tap M2, M3, Dies M2, M3 Reamer 5H7 files and a drill set. Otherwise, hand tools, which should be in every “technical model making workshop”, are necessary.   Here you will find an extensive construction report for the Nils eccentric press material kit with lots of pictures and tips. Round belt 2mm rough
Round belt for driving drive models or small machines. The drive belt has a diameter of 2 mm and a roughened surface. It is made of highly flexible PU material. You can cut the strap to the desired length and then weld it by heating it (lighter or small blowtorch) and pressing it together. These flexible but still very stable straps are ideal for model making. The drive belt is delivered as a 1 m piece. Welding the drive belt is very easy. Use either a candle or a small burner with a soft flame. Hold both ends of the strap to the flame until the plastic begins to melt. Then press the two ends of the strap lightly against each other. After the material has cooled, the excess can be removed with a scalpel or small side cutters.

Soft soldering paste
Soft soldering paste for brass, copper, steel and silver steel. The paste is applied thinly to the parts to be tinned and heated with a brazing lamp. For large-area soft soldering, it is optimal to tin- the parts beforehand. For example, we use the paste to pre-tine the cylinder and the mirror when constructing a model steam engine. The tinning paste can also be used optimally as a flux substitute. The soft soldering paste is excellently suitable as corrosion protection for steel parts. Bengs Modellbau uses the zinc paste for steel cylinders with a cooling water jacket. For example in the Flammenfresser Kurfürst. Stirring the paste before use is not necessary! The soft soldering paste may be diluted with water. Tip
high-alloyed silver solder 1mm / 1,5mm
We have silver braided bars with a silver content of 55% (L-Ag55) with a length of 500mm. Because of the relatively low melting point of this silver braze, the model builder in the field of technical model building is almost exclusively concerned. The working temperature of this hard solder is 630 ° C. The silver as an alloying component in the solder does not only reduce the working temperature, but also improves the flow properties. Furthermore, silver has the positive property of combining well with other metals. For brazing brass and steel, silver solder flux is essential. The low working temperature of the silver solder bars allows the thermal load to be as low as possible for the processed material. It is important not to heat the workpieces too much, especially in the case of brass. In combination with our silver solder flux you achieve with these silver solder always optimal results. The silver braided bars can be purchased from us in the shop in 2 different diameters. For fine soldering as it often happens in technical model construction we recommend the 1mm rods. The 1mm silver braided bars are easy to carry with the hand and can be easily melted with small burners. For larger parts we prefer the 1.5 mm silver solder bars. With these rods you get faster material to the soldering point if needed. What can be brazed? The following materials can be combined with silver solder: brass, copper, gunmetal, gray cast iron, rusting steels and stainless steel. A combination of the materials among each other is easily possible with this silver braze solder. If the material is not known to you, it is always recommended to solder a piece to the sample beforehand. This allows you to determine whether the materials can be combined with the silver braze.Instructions Brazing with silver solder If you have never worked on silver solder and you are not sure how the exact solder brazing procedure is with silver solder, we can help you before you buy the silver solder. We have created a guide for you in our Bengs Modellbaumagazin on the topic "Brazing with silver solder". Here you can find out what you need and have to consider if you want to solder 2 components with silver solder. Tip: Flux residues and discoloration of the material can be optimally eliminated with our satin brushes or abrasive fleece!Characteristics of the silver solder bars500 mm long. 1mm or 1.5mm diameter Silver solder bars L-Ag55 (55% silver) Working temperature 630 ° C Bengs Modellbau has used this silver solder bars for years.
