Kaindl Woodcarver Gold
The shape of the cutting edge of the Kaindl Woodcarver Gold is reminiscent of a chainsaw. In fact, the cutting tooth of this wood carving cutter has the same shape as a chainsaw tooth. However, the Woodcarver also has an all-round limitation on the cutting depth.
The cutting depth is limited to 0.4mm per cut from the tip of the cutting edge to the bottom of the tooth. This gives us an absolutely kickback-free tool. In contrast to almost all other milling tools on the market. The Kaindl Woodcarver Gold from the company Kaindl Schleiftechnik is an ideal tool for all wood craftsmen, Plumbers, model makers, boat builders and sculptors, whether in industry for craftsmen or do-it-yourselfers.
You can use the Woodcarver to mill, cut, mill grooves and carve shapes of solid wood. You can work on solid wood, chipboard, plastics, plaster (no stone!). With the carving cutter you can remove a lot of material in a very short time but also work very delicately. The Woodcarver from Kaindl works absolutely kickback-free thanks to its chip thickness limiters. The carving cutter can be used in all directions, both right and left as well as up and down. The Woodcarver has a big advantage over sanding. Because you are carving away the material and not sanding it, you prevent excessive dust formation and heat generation (burning for wood, smearing for plastics).
You can easily mount the 115mm woodcarver disc on your 115mm or 125mm winding sander (Flex). Since an angle grinder is available in most workshops, no new power tool is required. A useful extension is the original Kaindl cover with a connection for a vacuum cleaner or dust extraction. This means you can work safely and without chips even indoors. The professional association approval is only valid in conjunction with the Kaindl dust protection hood.
If the Woodcarver ever becomes blunt, that's no problem, it can be re-sharpened relatively easily. Since the Kaindl carving cutter is made of plasma nitrided, carbonized steel and has a hardness of 62 Rockwell, it cannot be sharpened with a conventional file like a chainsaw, for example. However, it can either be used with the diamond file from Kaindl or with the Diamond mounted points can be sharpened very well. Detailed sharpening instructions can be found in the operating instructions supplied. Since the steel of the Woodcarver has a hardness of 62 Rockwell, it is very difficult to sharpen with conventional files or grinding points.
