Flame Licker Jarne

€325.00*

Available, delivery time: 1-3 days

Product number: 2220
Product information "Flame Licker Jarne"
The Flame Eater Jarne has a crankshaft mounted on the cylinder. The force of the piston is transmitted via a beam to the crankshaft above. It has a wet cylinder sleeve and can be cooled with water. This flame eater was based on a flame eater by Armin de Vries, who offered a set of cast parts some time ago.

The flywheels of this model have a diameter of 140 mm. The cylinder's cooling jacket is made of aluminum and has a diameter of 60 mm. The cylinder sleeve is already finished on the inside. It just needs to be edited on the outside. The piston material for this model is gray cast iron round material. Graphite is used for the slider in this flame eater model. Most of the parts used in the model flame eater are made of brass. An oak base plate is also included.
To build the material kit for the flame eater "Jarne", a medium lathe is required. You will also need a small pillar drill and a torch for soft soldering. Furthermore, hand tools (tap M2, M3, M4, M8x0.75 / cutting die M2, M3, M4, M8x0.75, / reamers 3H7, 4H7, 6H7, / files, drill set) are also necessary.

Dimensions Flame Eater “Jarne”:

  • Length: 260mm
  • Width: 120mm
  • Height: 260mm
  • Flywheel D.: 140mm
  • Piston D.: 30mm
  • Stroke: 58mm

high-alloyed silver solder 1mm / 1,5mm
We have silver braided bars with a silver content of 55% (L-Ag55) with a length of 500mm. Because of the relatively low melting point of this silver braze, the model builder in the field of technical model building is almost exclusively concerned. The working temperature of this hard solder is 630 ° C. The silver as an alloying component in the solder does not only reduce the working temperature, but also improves the flow properties. Furthermore, silver has the positive property of combining well with other metals. For brazing brass and steel, silver solder flux is essential. The low working temperature of the silver solder bars allows the thermal load to be as low as possible for the processed material. It is important not to heat the workpieces too much, especially in the case of brass. In combination with our silver solder flux you achieve with these silver solder always optimal results. The silver braided bars can be purchased from us in the shop in 2 different diameters. For fine soldering as it often happens in technical model construction we recommend the 1mm rods. The 1mm silver braided bars are easy to carry with the hand and can be easily melted with small burners. For larger parts we prefer the 1.5 mm silver solder bars. With these rods you get faster material to the soldering point if needed. What can be brazed? The following materials can be combined with silver solder: brass, copper, gunmetal, gray cast iron, rusting steels and stainless steel. A combination of the materials among each other is easily possible with this silver braze solder. If the material is not known to you, it is always recommended to solder a piece to the sample beforehand. This allows you to determine whether the materials can be combined with the silver braze.Instructions Brazing with silver solder If you have never worked on silver solder and you are not sure how the exact solder brazing procedure is with silver solder, we can help you before you buy the silver solder. We have created a guide for you in our Bengs Modellbaumagazin on the topic "Brazing with silver solder". Here you can find out what you need and have to consider if you want to solder 2 components with silver solder. Tip: Flux residues and discoloration of the material can be optimally eliminated with our satin brushes or abrasive fleece!Characteristics of the silver solder bars500 mm long. 1mm or 1.5mm diameter Silver solder bars L-Ag55 (55% silver) Working temperature 630 ° C Bengs Modellbau has used this silver solder bars for years.

Metric fine threads
These dies for metric fine threads are made from HSS steel. We only supply you with cutting dies and taps of industrial quality, so that you can enjoy your tools for a long time. Fine threads are well suited for use in model making because the threads look more delicate. Bengs Modellbau likes to use fine threads on tank caps, coolant caps, screw connections or adjustment spindles. You can of course also order matching die holder in the Bengs model shop. Please always use cutting oil when using fine thread dies. Industrial quality The following thread cutting dies are always available: Other sizes available at short notice upon request. Fine thread dies  Die cutting iron M4x0.5 / dimensions 20mm x 5mm  Die cutting iron M5x0.5 / dimensions 20mm x 5mm  Die cutting iron M6x0.5 / dimensions 20mm x 7mm  Die cutting iron M6x0.75 / dimensions 20mm x 7mm  Die cutting iron M7x0.5 / dimensions 25mm x 9mm  Die cutting iron M8x0.75 / dimensions 25mm x 9mm  Die cutting iron M8x1 / dimensions 25mm x 9mm  Die cutting iron M10x1 / dimensions 30mm x 11mm

Grafi-sil valve balls
Grafi-sil valve balls are made of a special silicone rubber. The valve balls ensure 100% tightness in steam model construction with their check valves, feed water pumps and injectors, even when the ball sockets are removed or dirty. They can be used in steam, water and oil pipes and are absolutely noise-free. The following valve ball diameters are available: 4mm Grafi-sil valve balls 5mm Grafi-sil valve balls 6mm Grafi-sil valve balls 8mm Grafi-sil valve balls 10mm Grafi-sil valve balls 12.7mm Grafi-sil valve balls 15,2mm Grafi-sil valve balls You can of course also retrofit the Grafi-sil balls into your existing components. The maximum ball diameter must always be selected. Sufficient is already 0.3mm distance between ball and armature diameter. The graphi-sil spheres can be used up to a temperature of 400 ° C. We use the Grafi-sil spheres, among other things, as outlet valve balls for our flame eaters. We offer you a sample set with 2 balls of each size - with a price advantage of 20% !!! 2x4mm / 2x5mm / 2x6mm / 2x8mm Whoever has used Grafi-sil balls does not take anything else! !!! Grafi-sil valve balls are also used in machine and plant construction !!!

Flux for silver solder
When brazing, fluxes have the task of loosening and removing the oxide layers present on the soldering surfaces and preventing them from forming again during soldering. The flux is adjusted to the working temperature of our Silver hard solder matched. Before use, the flux for silver solder should be stirred well. Using the brush in the bottle, a thin layer can be applied to the component to be soldered. You can find detailed instructions in our model making magazine (Hard soldering with silver solder instructions). If the silver brazing flux has dried out, you can make it liquid again with distilled water. Brazing with silver solder rods without flux is not possible. When the flux is heated with the burner, the water it contains first evaporates. This can be seen in the final formation of small bubbles. When the component is heated further with the flux and the working temperature is reached, the flux paste begins to melt and becomes transparent. Now the moment has come where the silver solder can be added. The effective range of the flux for silver solder is between 500°C and 800°C. The flux is suitable for brazing copper, brass, gunmetal, steel and stainless steel. Tip: Flux residues and discoloration of the material can be optimally removed with our Satin brushes or remove with abrasive fleece. You can get the flux for silver solder from us in the packaging sizes: 50g. Bottle with brush 100g.Bottle without brush
